GCF Group IITuesday, February 9, 2010 - After a long 48-hour wait at Homestead Air Force Reserve Base, the Air Force made the necessary accommodation to fly out GCF Team II, dubbed the "Red Hats", to Haiti on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 11:04 am. During their stay at the base, the volunteers were treated with the utmost level of respect, compassion and kindness. Despite the eagerness to help the earthquake victims in Haiti, the volunteers were able to enjoy the moment, while impatiently waiting for their time to board a plane. To decrease the number of volunteers at the base, GCF took the precautionary measure of sending seven (7) of the volunteers ahead on Sunday to start working with other organization. Lt Col Chubb made a promise to help the group leave within 48 hours, and he did just that. It was quite a journey for the GCF volunteers!

Meanwhile, Team I, "the Pathfinders", were back in the states after a week of remarkable work. They saw more than 1,500 patients, from Croix-des-Bouquets and other areas around Port-au-Prince. Team I set the stage through a very efficient process that paved the way for a smooth transition for Team II to continue with the clinic.

GCF Volunteers are the Best!
